PEAK-Teams tip off EuroBasket2017 Germany wins over Ukraine
The Basketball European Championship 2017 has started. The German National Team equipped by the Chinese supplier PEAK succeeded in their opening match against the Ukraine (75:63). NBA-Star Dennis Schröder led the way with 32 points. After a slow start, the team of Head Coach Chris Fleming got stronger in the second quarter and won after a solid team effort. In tomorrow’s second game, Germany meets with Georgia at 2.45 pm.
The host of Germany’s preliminary group in Tel Aviv however, did not have a successful start into the tournament: Israel, also supplied by PEAK, lost to Italy with 48:69.
Today, another two PEAK-Teams meet in Istanbul: Latvia and Serbia compete for the first tournament win at 4 pm. The talented Baltic team is eager to be tough on Serbia who is among the favorites to win this year’s European crown. A true Basketball Classic!
PEAK also equips the teams of Rumania and Montenegro who both start their EuroBasket action today. Montenegro meets with reigning champion Spain in Cluj, followed by the game of Rumania versus Czech Republic.
The Basketball European Championship takes place from August 31st to September 17th, 2017. The preliminary rounds are played in four venues (Cluj, Tel Aviv, Istanbul and Helsinki), the final round sums up in Istanbul. It is the 40th edition of the EuroBasket and the best 24 teams compete for the title.
